Frequently Asked Questions
What are your Day Care hours?
Day Care is available from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Other days may be available on request.
You can drop off your dog between 7:30am and 8:00am, then we all head off on the school run and straight on to our first walk of the day. We go for a second walk at lunchtime and school run at 3:00pm. Collection from Day Care is from 4:00pm until close at 5:30pm.
What vaccinations does my dog need?
All dogs coming for day care and boarding must be fully vaccinated. The current core vaccines are for Distemper, Parvovirus, Hepatitis and Leptospirosis. Kennel Cough is also mandatory for my business. I will need to see your dog’s vaccination certificate before we can organise a meet and greet.
As well as the above vaccinations, all dogs must receive regular flea and worm treatment.
What should I pack for a Day Care visit?
Please bring your dog’s harness, lead, and a coat if they usually wear one. Bring their cooling jacket if they have one for the heat. If your dog has special dietary requirements then please provide their treats. All dogs must wear an ID tag while with me, and this is best placed on a collar so they do not need to wear their harness all day. I cannot walk dogs in groups on a retractable or extending lead, so if this is all you have I will use one of my own leads.
Can my dog come to stay overnight with you?
I only offer home boarding for my regular day care dogs. This is to ensure we know each other really well. Home Boarding isn’t the right option for some dogs, in which case you may need a pet sitter (someone who stays in your home) and I would be happy to recommend some to you. I always book in a trial overnight stay, even for dogs that have been coming for regular day care. On completion of a successful trial, I can book in your boarding request.
Do you accept puppies?
I do. Please be aware that it’s part of my licence to only accept neutered adult dogs. This means that I can accept your puppy, but when they reach the appropriate age for their breed they would need to be neutered or cease coming.
My dog has to stay on lead, is this a problem?
Although my preference is for the dogs to run freely on our walks and have a good sniff around; they can still enjoy a walk with their friends on lead. They will however, need to be well trained for lead walking so they aren’t pulling me along!
For Home Boarding, how many dogs stay overnight?
I try to only have dogs from one family at a time board overnight (apart from the rare and occasional cross over due to flights etc). I don’t have my own dog, so your dogs can rest peacefully after a busy day with the Day Care dogs.
Where do dogs sleep when they stay overnight?
The preference is for dogs to sleep in the living room, however some dogs settle better in our bedroom and this is also allowed. Sleeping arrangements can be worked out during the trial stay and I will let you know what has worked best.
